Resources · WhatsApp cost saver
One message. Then the chat carries on free.
From 1 October 2026, Meta charges for every WhatsApp reply. Pepper answers in one WhatsApp message, then the chat carries on free in her web chat, on the same thread.
Your bill is rising. Every WhatsApp reply now has a price.
WhatsApp is where your customers are. From October, every reply you send there has a price, and a helpful chat is a chat with many replies. Across hundreds of outlets, that adds up fast.
One paid reply. The rest moves to web chat.
Pepper keeps WhatsApp for what it's good at: being where the customer starts. The rest of the conversation moves to her web chat, where replies cost nothing.
The customer asks
On WhatsApp, the way they always do.
Pepper replies once
One short WhatsApp message with her link. That's the only paid message.
One tap opens her web chat
On the same conversation. No login, nothing to install.
The chat carries on free
The full answer, product cards, vouchers and maps, and every reply after.
Each customer gets one link a day, and it stays the same all day, so the one they scroll back to always works. It expires at midnight.
A voucher list that would have gone out as a second paid message is folded into the first one instead.
Messenger, Instagram, Telegram and web chat carry on exactly as before.
Turn it on or off for your brand in the admin, and the next message follows. Easy to show the before and after.
The admin counts the links sent and opened, with an estimate of the WhatsApp replies moved to web chat.
No web chat set up? Pepper simply answers on WhatsApp as before, rather than send a link to nowhere.
Your saving. Put in your own numbers.
Start from the example, a retail chain answering 10,000 WhatsApp chats a month across its outlets, 5 replies each, then change it to your own. Illustrative example
Same chat. A fraction of the bill.
The same chat, with and without the cost saver. Example: 10,000 chats a month, 5 replies each.
| Without the cost saver | With Pepper's cost saver | |
|---|---|---|
| Paid WhatsApp replies per chat | Every reply, 5 in the example | One |
| Where the chat carries on | Pepper's web chat, same thread, no login | |
| Lists and extra messages | Can go out as a second paid message | Folded into the one message |
| Cost a month, in the example Illustrative example | RM2,820 | RM564 |
| Your other channels | Unchanged | Unchanged |
Estimate at RM0.0564 per outbound message. Real bills depend on Meta's message categories.
Questions. What CEOs ask us first.
Will customers actually tap the link?
The saving depends on it, so we count it: the admin shows how many links went out and how many were opened. Every WhatsApp reply carries the same day's link, so the answer is always one tap away, and customers who keep typing on WhatsApp still get one message per reply, with any voucher list folded in rather than sent separately.
Do customers need to install anything or log in?
No. The link opens Pepper's web chat in the phone's browser, already on their conversation, so nobody has to explain themselves twice.
Is the link safe?
Each link belongs to one customer, is long and random so it can't be guessed, and expires at midnight. A new day brings a new link.
Is RM0.0564 what we will pay?
It's the estimate we use per outbound message. Real bills depend on Meta's message categories, so treat the calculator as a guide, not a quote.
What if we change our mind?
It's one switch per brand in the admin. Turn it off and WhatsApp goes back to answering in full from the next message. Your other channels never change either way.
How much work is it to turn on?
If Pepper already answers your WhatsApp and her web chat is set up in your brand, it's the switch. If not, Fireworks sets both up as part of the build.
What about customer data and PDPA?
The web chat is Pepper herself, on the same conversation, hosted, secured and backed up by Fireworks. She reads your loyalty system and changes it only through that system's own controls, and you approve every campaign before it sends.
More reasons. Pepper, from every angle.
